God did not leave Jacob or Naomi in their places of sorrow but used their suffering as place in which He could restore them to blessing. Jacob, as hurt as he was by Rachel's death, did not let Benjamin's birth be perpetual reminder of pain but rather blessing. And Naomi's emptiness was filled when they returned to Bethlehem, married Boaz from Bethlehem and eventually their family line would produce David, a shepherd from Bethlehem who would be the forerunner of the True Shepherd of Bethlehem. Don't let pain define you.
