Paul continues to show the benefits of prophesying over tongues for the simple and obvious reason that one is understandable. But the other is more 'exciting'. The Corinthians had a problem of using gifts and preferences as different ways to show they had God's "approval". We are really unbalanced when we're using God's gifts to prove to others how important we are.
