As Peter responds to God's leading to go to Caesarea and meet Cornelius, he then understands that god wants him to share Christ with Cornelius and his family. To Peter and his Jewish entourage, the Spirit comes to indwell Cornelius and those with him who respond to the gospel by faith alone. God stretched Peter to share Christ with those he was uncomfortable with and assumed weren't interested. Like Peter, we often do the same.
